Go me!

Woo hoo!  I did not gain weight over the last 10 days, which included a trip to Washington, D.C., Thanksgiving travel to Arkansas, and my birthday!

Stellar ideas i got at the QAT Shop Hop!

New quilts!

A postage stamp quilt I made for a friend from high school.  I just love how it turned out!
This is a baby quilt for a co-worker, made all with fabrics I already had in my house!

Another baby quilt for a co-worker.  This was made of leftover pieces from Lyla's baby quilt.

More Weight Watchers

We had a new . . . leader? lecturer? presenter? I don't know what they're called . . . tonight, and he wasn't nearly as good as our usual one, whose name is apparently Karen.  Karen makes the meetings personal and writes stuff down on a flip chart that is specific to what we're doing. For example, what restaurants IN LEANDER do we frequent where we can get good food?  Or what kind of BBQ do we eat and how many points is it per kind?  (Stay the hells away from ribs!)  This dude was almost preachy.  And he licked his lips a lot.  I know, that's a stupid reason to not like his presentation, but it was irritating.

I'm not under 200 yet, which is my goal before leaving on vacation.  But I did lose .8 lbs this week.  I'll take it!

Final remembrance quilt for Debu.

This one turned out pretty, but almost too bland.  However, I still really like it.  And I'm glad to be done!

Thoughts on WW

This week is my fourth week on Weight Watcher's.  I was proud to receive my 5lbs lost star, or whatever it was, last week.  It's so nice to lose some weight, even if it is only five pounds!  I swear I can see it in the mirror, in my face.  I love that!  Of course, I still have 20 pounds on what I was before I got pregnant with Lyla, but it's nice to see progress!

And it is great to go to the meetings.  I know it seems hokey and weird, but the people aren't like falling all over themselves to tell you what a great job you're doing.  It's mainly just the leader, whose name I can't even remember, who does that, and she seems both sincere and clueless.  She's hilarious.  She's lost 94 pounds!  She looks fabulous!  But the "public" acknowledgement that I've made progress is just so gratifying.  There is a woman at the meeting who had lost 125 pounds as of the last meeting.  125 pounds!  Holy crap!

Remembrance Quilt #3

Here is the third of Debu's four quilts.  The other one is almost finished, too: I am about halfway done with the binding.  Yay!

Laura's Log Cabin

Well, as expected, I did not get a whole helluva lot done in the first year of Lyla's life.  I think this Log Cabin is the only quilt I completed last year, besides hers, which is the Patience Corner that I've already posted about.  But, the important thing is, I made it for a wedding gift for my friend Laura Baker, and I got it done in time for her wedding.  That is a major accomplishment!  (Sad to say.)

I had originally wanted to do the front of this quilt in the more funky style that you sometimes see, thinking that was more Laura's style, but hell if I could figure out how.  So, I made a crazy back, instead.  I think they have a king size bed and this fits it fine.  It was super big.
