Update

Yay! I'm am doing so well!
Lyla's quilt - Quilted and machine-bound. I just have to hand-bind the other side.
Lyla's baby book - All done to the point that it can be before she comes, except for the lack of a couple of pictures that I have to get.
Seth's baby book - I got all the first year pictures done tonight. I need to do his 2nd birthday page and his favorite's page, and then he's all caught up.
Nursery - All ready!
Bassinet - Needs a sheet and then it's ready to go.
Valentine's cards - I made a plan for these last night and took some great shots of Seth today to send with them.
Nanette's quilt - I think this is next on my list. I looked at it today and almost started working on it, but then told myself I really needed to do the baby books first!
Oi. I need to go to bed. Bailey Anne is TIRED.

Lyla's top!

Isn't it so pretty? I need to go to JoAnn's and get some backing for it. Stupid, stupid me, I made way too many blocks. I made enough for a twin size instead of a crib size. So now I have 8 blocks left over that will make someone else a very easy, pretty baby quilt when I need it!

I'm hoping to get to JoAnn's tomorrow morning, if I'm feeling better, and get that fabric washed during my scrap party, and then on Sunday maybe be able to quilt!

Of course, I proudly showed the top to Jason, and he pointed out that I made a quilt with a swastika pattern. GREAT.

Lyla's quilt

I got Lyla's quilt planned! I am doing a pattern called Patience Corner. Maybe some of that patience will rub off on me! Sorry. Anyway, the pattern is really simple, but I think it's going to be really striking when the quilt is done. And, the best part is that I'm doing it all out of Batik scraps! I had a lot of backing material from my Mardi Gras quilt left over - I've had it for years! It is light purple and green with some blue and then with gold lightning strike-like threads running through it. It's very pretty. Surrounding that Batik will be the leftover purple Batiks from the quilt on my bed and the leftover purple, blue, and green Batik from a quilt that I don't remember. I thought it was from Laura's quilt, but I just looked at the picture and that fabric looked quite different. Hmmm. Ah ha! I found it. It's from the quilt I made for Anna and Stephen when they got married. It is the fabric that is surrounding the monkey wrench pattern (which is the pinky-purple). Anyway, I'll have to take a picture of my drawing of it and post it like I did for Seth's.

New Year's list!

Oh wow, it is 2011! And I need to make a whole new set of goals for what to get done! I did pretty damn good last year. I think I finished 11 projects - not bad, not bad, especially considering that my goal was to finish only five!

This year, I think five is a safe goal, considering the changes coming next month. Here is what I have to work on, in order of importance:
- plan and make Lyla's baby quilt
- make Nanette's t-shirt quilt
- finish Maya's baby quilt
Wow, that's not a bad list! That's all the stuff I'd like to get done in the next six weeks, though, which makes it a wee bit more difficult! I also want to make Valentine's Day cards, which will take up some time. Then I have a whole other huge list of projects to work on, as well. But I think I'll focus on these four things for now, since I need to get them done quickly.

Happy New Year, and happy crafting to me!

The elephant quilt is done!

I should have made it a wee bit larger. I didn't take into account the fact that I wasn't using any sashing. So in the end, it's a little bit short. But! It is really cute!

Here was my original drawing. Here is the finished product, spread out for better viewing. In retrospect, I wish that I had done a solid-like blue surrounding the elephants in the squares. It's a little busy, but I do like it.This is a picture of the beautiful afghan that Mom made for Seth for Christmas.
And here is the quilt on Seth's bed!
