Peacock Quilt

Here is the quilt I just basted:

My mom designed and pieced the quilt; I am quilting it. Isn't it pretty? I think the colors are so striking on the black background.

This is the first quilt I've pin basted in a good long while. Jason helped me lay it out and I tried to spray baste it, but I ran out of the good stuff (on the left).
I'd no idea the bad stuff was bad when I spent $16.99 each on two bottles at JoAnn's (dummy me).

Ah well! Basting done, now I get to learn how to use a giant thing of thread on my machine.

And I am concurrently still working on the hexie stack and whack:

Now if only I could put down my current novel in the Outlander books long enough to get some sewing or quiltig done!!

Baby Quilt Complete

Check, check, check!! And the baby is not even three weeks old!!!  Now just to get it to them in a timely manner.

The yellow on the back got really washed out when I tried to get an up-close shot of the quilting. The color in the first photo of the back is much truer.

Next up, a stack and whack for our babysitter's graduation present.

Current Baby Quilt

Because the quilt is so small, I only did one cut and swap.
My quilting pic didn't turn out great.  I'll try and get a better one, but you kind of get the idea.  Hopefully I will get this done this weekend!

Darn thread!

I may have finished Jenn's quilt, but meanwhile my coworker went and gave birth a week early and I'm not done with her baby quilt yet!  Yikes!  I started quilting it last night but OF COURSE ran out of thread because sometimes, that's just how it goes.  I will see the inside of a Jo Ann's today!

This is the quilt I saw that inspired mine: Rainbow Quilt
I will post a picture of mine tonight.  I changed it up a bit but I think it still looks good!  I love the rainbow.  :-)

Crosshatch Quilt

*sigh of relief*  It's done!  It was meant to be done in July, but I had it done in January instead.  Oh well, my friend isn't any less happy to get it.  :-)

I really enjoyed doing the quilting on this one!
