Rainbow Quilts

That's the rainbow quilt I made for Lyla for her big girl bed. It's one of two quilts that I've quilted on a long arm.

Now I'm working on another rainbow quilt, this for a baby of an expectant coworker. It's based on this quilt I saw on Pinterest:
Isn't that gorgeous? I collected the fabric at all the QAT shops. Here they are:
I just need a white and purple one to insert third from the right!!

QAT Day Four (For Me)

Success!!! We hit all the stores in the Dallas region!!! Now if only my name would be drawn for the grand prize. Yeah, right. I have to hit three stores in the Houston region and I'll be all set.

Some of my faves from today:
This shop in Plano only had batiks. Loved that one. Then Jason told me, "Remember back before we got married, I told you I'd like a quilt made from batiks?" Uh, no. And a new collection is born!

I am in the Christmas mood:

Those ornaments are little tiny art pieces! So pretty.

My compadres:
First day for Aunt Molly, third for Madre.

Fave thing today:
Mom complained about someone being double-parked around one of the squares. Then we promptly couldn't find parking so she double-parked and Molly and I ran inside.

"I haven't hit the breaks for you once all day! I have grabbed on to my handle a couple times and grimaced...."

Great Ideas

Mom and I are in the middle of going around the Dallas shops on the Quilt Across Texas shop hop. Some great quilts I saw today:

And last week we went to several shops in the hill country. This was my favorite find:

Best comment today:
"Oh, the speed limit's 75! I can go faster!"
"Were you already going 75?"
"No, I was going 80."
Someone had a lead foot.

New tools

After fourteen years of quilting, I'm finally using a new Olfa pad and new ruler. :-) It's kind of amazing to be able to see the lines again!
Still the same old rotary cutter, although definitely not the same blade!
